The new Mini Convertible is set to be launched in the UK in 2009, car insurance holders may be interested to read.

Drivers will be able to get their hands on the new Mini Cooper and Cooper S derivatives from March 28th.

The Mini Cooper Convertible will cost £15,995 on-the-road, while the Mini Cooper S Convertible will be available from £18,995.

New engine technologies are among the latest features for the popular line of cars, as well as fitted air conditioning as standard and an air cooling feature to keep glovebox contents cold in the summer.

Motorists can pick from Black, Denim Blue and Hot Chocolate finishes for their new Mini and benefit from greater luggage capacity than that seen in the previous model.

The top of the convertible can come down within a speedy 15 seconds and can operate when the car is moving at a speed of up to 20 mph.

Meanwhile, the RAC Foundation has called on drivers to refrain from using their mobile phones while on the road, as doing so can result in reaction times slower than those recorded for motorists who have consumed alcohol.
