Car insurance: Nissan NV200 voted International Van of the Year

Tuesday, 17 November 2009

NV200, Nissan's global new small van, has been named International Van of the Year (IVoY) 2010, motor insurance customers may be interested to know.

A jury consisting of 23 specialised European journalists said Nissan had created a compact light commercial vehicle "that sets new standards in terms of internal space in relation to the external dimensions".

The NV200 is already sold in Japan, where it has over 40 per cent of the market share.

Nissan's website describes it as "a real segment breaker" with exterior dimensions comparable to a car-derived van and a cavernous cargo space which delivers a load bay more than two metres in length, sufficient to carry two standard Euro pallets at the same time.

In the UK the NV200 will initially only be offered in van form, though a combi version complete with the option of seven seats is due to be launched in February 2010.

Andy Palmer, senior vice-president of Nissan Motor Company, said he was "delighted" to receive the award.

"We offer our customers a vehicle that is an efficient and reliable business tool," he added.
