Monday, 02 October 2006

World tourism is changing as technological advances, environmental issues and terrorist attacks affect the industry.

The European Travel Commission's (ETC) recent study into tourism has found Russia, China and India have become popular travel destinations. Online booking has meant more people are researching low-cost offers and with more tourists comes more secondary destinations for them to visit according to the report.

Robert Franklin, executive director of the ETC, said: "One of the most critical developments is the ageing of the population which has already had, and will continue to have, a major impact on travel and tourism demand."

It is important wherever you travel that you are prepared for accidents and you can get a travel insurance online before you leave home.

More people are tailor-making their holidays by researching destinations and airlines online and the internet is an easy and fast place to buy your cheap travel insurance.
