Car insurance: New proposals in Overton

Proposals are being put in place to lower the speed limit in Overton, Hampshire to 20mph, something that could have an impact on people's car insurance premiums.

Transport and Highways representative at the parish council Brian Langer stated that such measures could improve safety for locals, reports this is

Moreover, Mr Langer has urged the village to adopt the Village 30 Project, which could see 30mph signs placed on roads running up to area.

"We would like to see 20mph limits in the heart of the village and we're making this proposal because if we don't ask then we won't get," he told the publication.

He suggested that in some instances it can be difficult to get the county council to approve such plans but they would undoubtedly have a positive impact.

In related news, a safety campaign on a Scotland road, the A85, is set to carry on after a plethora of accidents.

Campaigners stated that fresh road signs ought to be created so that drivers have more of a warning about a dip in the highway.
