Personal touch trending for bathrooms?

Wednesday, 05 September 2012

It seems that there is to be an emphasis on the personal touch when it comes to the future of bathrooms.

Home insurance holders and other people may be adding an individual slant to the rooms, in future, if they haven't already.

Mereway Bathrooms' director Tim Wood has said that certain shades as well as designs brought in by the company will be setting, instead of following, fashion trends.

As a result, he said that it could forecast with confidence a bathroom trend that was set to carry on, one that involves "'showcase' or 'statement' bathrooms with vibrant colours and individual styling options".

Because of this, the company would have to carry on innovating, he said, and bringing in a still bigger range of finishes as well as shades.

At the same time it would have to feature "practical, thoughtful touches such as clever storage solutions," he added, "enabling people to enjoy a calm, personal space with minimal clutter".

When she was asked last year to name 2011's big bathroom trends, Ailsa Bathroom Design's Ailsa Mitchell talked about removing baths and replacing them with wet rooms.
