Motor insurance policyholders urged to drive more safely on campus

Saturday, 20 November 2010

Motor insurance policyholders from Leeds Met University are being advised on how they can drive more safely.

As part of Road Safety Week, on Monday, the Leeds branch of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) will team up with the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service to promote safer
driving.

Between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT, volunteers from both organisations will discuss road safety and the services they can offer to young car insurance policyholders.

University health and safety officer, Chris Domeracki, said: "I would recommend all drivers to take up the opportunity of a free driving assessment.

"Road safety is something that is important for all of us and as well as improving your own driving, it's useful to get advice on how to anticipate the action of other road users."

The theme of this year's Road Safety Week is 'Kids say slow down'. It will be running from November 22nd to 28th around the country.
