Car Insurance: Classic car fans get can-can treat

Friday, 12 September 2008

Drivers with classic car insurance were treated to a display from some Moulin Rouge dancers earlier this week.

The entertainers were part of the festivities at the Royal Automobile Club in London which greeted a 104-year-old Renault as it completed a 250-mile journey from Paris.

Daniel Ward, the owner of the classic motor, was accompanied on his journey by chief executive of the Moulin Rouge Jean-Jacques Clerico, who was driving a 1902 Darracq.

The event was organised as part of this year's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR), the theme of which is French car manufacturing.

Both Mr Ward and Mr Clerico are planning to take part in the run on November 2nd.

Commenting on the French flavour of the 2008 event, Roger Etcell, LBVCR event director, said: "The Moulin Rouge is instantly recognisable worldwide as very French and we are pleased to have them as a partner for the 2008 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run."

Earlier this month, Renault announced plans to unveil its concept car - Ondelios – at the Paris Motor Show in October.
