Embattled car maker Toyota has revealed it has repaired more than half of the vehicles it recalled in the UK.
The manufacturer has recalled millions of vehicles around the world, with many
motor insurance policyholders reporting 'sticky' accelerator pedals and faulty brakes.
More than 58 per cent of the company's flagship Prius model that needed changes to the braking software programme have been recalled and customers seem happy with the way the firm has handled the situation.
A poll of 600 people found 96 per cent were satisfied with the whole process.
Despite the problems, UK consumers still seem keen on the Prius, with the company reporting strong sales of the car last month.
"We would like to thank the customers that continued to show their confidence in Toyota," Miguel Fonseca, Great Britain managing director, said.
In an effort to move on from the crisis, company president Akio Toyoda published an apology on his blog.
