Car insurance: Red Nose Day auction organised

Tuesday, 03 March 2009

Motorists keen to reduce the cost of their car insurance premiums by opting for a second-hand motor could end up doing their bit for charity at the same time.

British Car Auctions and Kia have announced they have joined forces to organise a used vehicle sale for Red Nose Day this Friday.

A total of 20 motors will go under the hammer with all proceeds going to Comic Relief.

There will be no reserve, which means each car will be sold to the highest bidder.

Kia has ensured all the vehicles meet the highest standards and they will come with at least six months MOT.

The sale will be held at Measham auction centre and will kick off at 10:00 GMT.

Craig Purvey, BCA national account manager, said: "Kia and BCA have worked closely together to stage this sale and we hope to attract a massive crowd of buyers on the day."

Before buying at auction, bidders may want to get a motor insurance quote for the kind of model they are interested in so they can get an idea of the overall cost.
