Managers could find getting
travel insurance is one way of reducing holiday stress, after a study found that many return from a break more anxious than when they left.
The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) polled nearly 2,500 UK managers to discover that of those who work while on leave, almost half take phone calls and one in ten go into the office.
Blackberries and smartphones were found to be the main barriers to holiday relaxation, with more than two-thirds admitting they check them at least once a day.
Penny de Valk, chief executive of the ILM, said that while technology makes it easier than ever to work remotely, it also makes it harder to switch off.
"Uncertain economic times also mean that many UK employers are keeping one eye on their job at all times, when what they really need is time away from the office to rest and re-energise," she added.
