Rising fuel costs worry UK motorists

Saturday, 02 July 2011

Brits are worried about the growing cost of household bills and motoring across the country.

This is according to Moneysupermarket.com, which has revealed to car insurance customers that over 13 per cent of Brits are concerned about the increasing cost of running a vehicle.

The figures come as inflation continues to rise and so does the cost of petrol and diesel in the UK.

Clare Francis, personal finance expert at Moneysupermarket.com, said: "British households are bearing the brunt of rising prices, with increases in energy, fuel and food costs hitting people particularly hard.

"People should be reviewing all of their outgoings as a priority to see where they can get better value and free up vital cash."

Recently, Swiftcover.com revealed to car insurance customers that over 60 per cent of UK vehicle owners want to reduce their motoring costs this year.

Robin Reames, claims director at the firm, added that ensuring an automobile is serviced properly could save drivers money in the long term.
