Car insurance: Council 'hands out advice'

Doncaster council helped to give advice to almost 20,000 people regarding road safety issues, it has been revealed.

And 184 kids were also given information on how they can improve their safety, as part of the Community Pedestrian Training Scheme, reports the South Yorkshire Times.

Local mayor winter stated that he is pleased the number of fatalities seen on the roads in the area has decreased in recent times and that more can still be done.

"From primary school children to newly qualified drivers we are working hard to reach residents of all ages, whether they are pedestrians, cyclists, passengers or drivers," he told the news source.

He added that improvements will be carried out on a number of routes in the weeks and months ahead because safety is a "top priority".

Another safety campaign carried out by one mum in Norfolk, Lorraine Lodge, 41, proved to be successful, the Norwich Evening News said.

Drivers caught breaking the law may find that their car insurance premiums are impacted upon.
