Motor insurance: Possible road changes on the way
Friday, 06 June 2008
Rutland county council could make changes to a highway in the area after it was requested to by residents, something that may have an impact on their motor insurance.
A petition has been submitted to the body by worried locals following a series of accidents there, reports the Rutland Times.
If the proposals are accepted at a council meeting next week, then fresh speed signs will be placed on Main Street in Greetham.
One of the campaigners, Judith Roberts, told the paper that various measures could be deployed in a bid to solve the problem of speeding drivers.
"It would be a better idea to have chicanes like the ones installed through Great Casterton recently because they could be arranged to slow traffic down through the whole village rather than at one point," she said.
Youngsters in Stonehaven recently composed a special jingle that aimed to promote safe driving and raised cash for their school, the Press & Journal stated.
