The Department for Transport (DfT) has released data which indicates that roads across the UK are becoming safer for people with
car insurance.
Its provisional findings for the third quarter of 2011 illustrated that the number of people killed or seriously injured declined by four per cent in the year up to last September.
In the same period, the number of minor casualties also decreased by five per cent.
Additionally, the research found that individuals with car insurance enjoyed the most significant drop in injury numbers, with a seven per cent fall in the incidents indicating that the roads are becoming safer.
The DfT's study also discovered that motor vehicle traffic levels dropped by seven per cent in comparison to the year preceding September 2010.
These falls come after a couple of quarters of slight increases, although a continuation of the current downward trend could have a beneficial impact on motorists' car insurance quotes.
