Speed guns are set to catch young drivers out in Awsworth, Nottinghamshire, in one back lane, officers have confirmed.
The speed devices have technology built into them that can automatically capture the registration details of the vehicles involved in breaking the law, reports the Ilkeston Advertiser.
And the measure has been adopted in the attempt by the authorities to improve road safety in the area after a number of incidents.
Eastwood police's Inspector John Lees stated that cars have in some cases careered off the road and into public areas.
He told the publication: "There have been a number of incidents on Awsworth Lane where cars have not been able to negotiate the corner and have ended up in front gardens."
Mr Lees added that this is a positive attempt to try and change matters in the vicinity.
It was reported this week that the number of speeding tickets paid to Thames Valley Road Partnership has fallen, as road safety courses have grown in popularity.
