Car insurance: Jingle promotes road?safety

Thursday, 05 June 2008

Inventive youngsters in one area of the country have helped to create a new jingle in the bid to improve road safety, something that could have an impact on drivers' car insurance premiums.

Children attending Arduthie School in Stonehaven composed the song to the tune of Jingle Bells and the pupils managed to raise £150 for their school, reports the Press & Journal.

Nicola Jolly, a former Miss UK, arrived at the venue in order to hand over the cash and praise those responsible for delivering an important message.

"The children have shown excellent skills and shown musical talent. By their enthusiasm and important work, the safety message can be promoted safely," she told the paper.

And the main warning in the musical sample is that children should beware when crossing busy roads.

In Leeds, other pupils also carried out a survey to try and see how much drivers know about road safety.
