Sustainable tourism solutions could be about to be improved after the Royal Deeside and Cairngorms Destination Management Organisation (DMO) announced fresh plans.

The body said that has taken on three new directors as it looks to boost its standing in the Deeside area, something that staff claimed will improve options for tourists, reports This is North Scotland.

Claire Bruce, Chairman at the organisation, noted that there are many benefits to come from the scheme in the area.

"The aims of the DMO are to create a thriving and sustainable tourism economy in the area, and to encourage the development of skills within the tourism sector," she told the news source.

She added that the fresh directors have a great level of expertise in the tourism sector, while their histories are also fairly diverse.

They are Neil Stewart from Running the Highlands, Marion Miller, formerly of the Millers Visitor and Retail Centre and Alan Melrose, creator of WalkDeeside.

People looking for tourism options should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance policy.

One of the attractions in the area is Balmoral Castle, where the Royal Family spends some of their summer months.
