Car insurance provider is launching a brand new home insurance service which is designed to make sure customers only pay for the cover they need.

Most home insurance policies include cover for things householders don't actually need, such as children living away from home, while only giving limited cover for things like bicycles and garden furniture.

Swiftcover's service provides excellent home insurance cover as standard, with a number of optional bolt-ons for things like garden items and dependents living away from home.

The home insurance provider said many people often do not want to switch their buildings and contents insurance quote because it can be hard work.

"As a result the market has become stagnant, so wants to shake it up by using the same hassle-free online approach that we pioneered with car insurance, and by proving that switching your home insurance provider is quick, easy and could save you money," said the company.
