Two factors that holidaymakers can look for to decrease their risk of making a
travel insurance claim are safe and secure accommodation as well as a financial protection scheme, it has been found.
This is because these are the most important factors for Brits when they organise their trip to ensure it is a hassle-free and soothing getwaway, according to Abta.
The research found that Holidaymakers also want tour operators to have ATOL financial protection, Abta membership and knowledgeable workers.
Abta's Mark Tanzer explained: "The message from our customers is loud and clear: financial protection is a top consideration when booking their holidays."
As well as this, Brits look for good transport connections, a range of holidays on offer and a convenient location.
However, having a well-known name and low prices were relatively low down holidaymakers' list of priorities, with only five per cent viewing them as essential or important.
