Motorists who want to get the cheapest car insurance quotes need to make sure they do not follow the example of a driver who was recently banned after using two mobiles at the wheel.

Norwich magistrates heard that David Secker was talking on one phone and texting on the other when he was in the process of driving on a 70 miles per hour dual carriageway.

The court also heard that the police had to wait for him to finish his conversation after they had pulled him over. Since the incident, he has been banned and fined.

Mr Secker was found guilty of using a mobile phone when driving, having no car insurance and not commanding proper control of his vehicle.

While a good track record can help you get the cheapest car insurance, many companies still don't make it easy, but with Swiftcover's online quotes you can be fully covered in under a minute.
