Motor insurance: Rutland roads face review

Safety of roads in Rutland may be improved after councillors said that a review in this department will be launched.

The move has been announced after another person, 41-year-old Louise Simmons, crashed and subsequently lost her life close to Lyddington, reports the Rutland and Stamford Mercury.

Council leader at Rutland County Council, Roger Begy, noted that working groups have come together in order to minimise the risk of accidents.

"The Think Bike campaign will be relaunched in Rutland in near future. And more work will take place on methods of educating young people and their parents about the dangers of mixing alcohol and driving," he told the news provider.

He added that motorists should always be vigilant, keep to the speed limit at all times and that care ought to be taken.

The mayor of London Ken Livingstone said this week that new television adverts will look to improve the capital's roads in terms of safety.

Drivers involved in accidents may find that their motor insurance premiums are negatively impacted upon.
