Travel insurance: Economic woes will not stop people enjoying themselves

Thursday, 12 March 2009

The recession may not stop people taking out travel insurance and heading off for a week in the sun, if the comments of one website are anything to go by.

According to lastminute.com, 70 per cent of people intend to spend exactly the same amount - or even more - on leisure activities this year as they did in 2008.

It stated many individuals have had enough of all the economic doom and gloom - and as a result are more determined than ever to go out and enjoy themselves.

However, the online resource pointed out people are making a conscious effort to take advantage of a range of cut-price deals that are available at the moment.

Mark Bower, lifestyle sales director at lastminute.com, stated: "People are being a lot savvier on what they're purchasing.

"At the moment, nobody should be paying full price for anything."

Holidaymakers looking to save money on their annual getaway may find they can secure a cheap travel insurance quote online.
