People on holiday in Wales last week will have been relieved to have their
travel insurance after high winds tour through a caravan site.
Gusts of more than 81 mph hit Sandy Beach Caravan Park at Llanfwrog near Valley, prompting witnesses to describe the weather as being like a tornado.
Park owner John Seymour-Jones said: "It was so sudden. Caravans were lifted up and bits flew all over."
Fortunately, there were no injuries recorded, but some people could well be assessing their travel insurance policies to make a claim.
As a result of the damage, the park has been closed to the public for the winter.
BBC Wales weather presenter Sue Charles said: "North-west Wales bore the brunt of the gale force winds."
Meanwhile, a woman was taken to hospital after being hit by what was described as a tornado in Greater Manchester.
The gust of wind also took down a chimney in Heaton Moor near Stockport
