Vauxhall is about to begin advertising its comprehensive warranty for all cars this week, which could catch the attention of
car insurance customers.
The ads will use archive PR footage and old TV ads, such as those with the flying Astras, and will be narrated by actor Bill Nighy.
Under the terms of the warranty, the first owner of any Vauxhall car registered after August 1st will be covered throughout the life of the vehicle, to a limit of 100,000 miles.
However, car insurance customers and watchdogs are likely to keep a close eye on the claims made in the ad, after rival manufacturer Kia was recently rapped by the Advertising Standards Authority for downplaying its mileage limit.
Vauxhall's marketing director Peter Hope commented: "This ad campaign is the first to focus purely on the Vauxhall brand, rather than a specific car line.
"This is apt, since the Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty applies to all our cars and illustrates our renewed commitment to provide the best customer service in the UK car market."
