Car insurance: Volvo model 'could be cost-effective choice'

Thursday, 17 September 2009

People who know which companies offer the best deals on budget car insurance may find a model from Volvo can help them save money in other areas.

The C30 1.6D DRIVe with Start/Stop - which will be available to order next month - is exempt from road tax as it releases 99 g/km of CO2.

Spokesman for the manufacturer Peter Ewerstrand expressed satisfaction with the vehicle's green credentials.

He explained the company has worked hard to produce an auto that releases less than 100 g/km of CO2.

"We've left absolutely no stone unturned in our determination to reach this target and it's wonderful that we have succeeded," Mr Ewerstrand commented.

In addition to being exempt from vehicle excise duty, the auto could save owners money at the pump as it boasts fuel economy of 74.3 mpg.

Meanwhile, vehicle buyers keen to protect their cheap motor insurance premiums may want to consider the Volvo XC60.

The model boasts City Safety technology, which is designed to minimise the risk of low-speed collisions.
