Motor insurance: Work commute 'is the most stressful'

A high number of Britons are finding that their journey into work is a stressful one, research from has found.

Of those polled, 12 per cent stated that the commute into work is the most stress-riddled one of all, while 64 per cent said that the amount of traffic is the main reason they dread the trip.

Director of underwriting at the company Craig Staniland urged drivers to remain cool and collected on the nation's roads, as this could decrease the risk of accidents.

"Keeping your cool will avoid unnecessary incidents too. And in any event, make sure you are not paying over the odds on car insurance. There are some great deals to be had online in minutes," he commented.

Despite the fear people have of busy roads, they still found time to ease the stress. In total, 49 per cent of respondents said that they let fresh air into the car to ease the pressure.

In related news, LeasePlan claimed that drivers are still speeding despite the introduction of more speed cameras into the roads.
