Monday, 20 September 2010

The worst destinations around the world for travel insurance policyholders to fall victim of pickpocketing have been revealed.

For the second year running, the Spanish city of Barcelona has topped the list compiled by TripAdvisor.

All of the top ten destinations where travel insurance holders are most likely to be pickpocketed are European cities.

Rome, Paris, Madrid and Athens complete the top five worst cities.

UK capital London came in 10th place in the TripAdvisor rankings.

"All these destinations offer a great experience for travellers and Brits should not be put off visiting. This index simply reinforces that extra care should be taken, especially in the busier tourist areas. By taking some simple precautions you'll be able to enjoy a fun and hassle-free holiday wherever you go," said TripAdvisor's Emma O'Boyle.

According to Opentravel.com, Singapore is the safest destination to travel to in the world.
