You can't DIY with conservatories, says expert

Friday, 29 June 2012

You can't do it yourself when it comes to conservatories, an expert has recently advised.

Hopefully not dashing the dreams of too many over-enthusiastic home insurance holding DIYers with his words, MyBuilder.com's Ryan Notz has said that "a conservatory is certainly not a DIY project."

The CEO also told homeowners that they should get the services of people with a background of conservatories experience when installing one.

When it comes to conservatory looks, he suggested that people should consider things that will integrate a conservatory with the rest of their house.

"A seamless continuation of your flooring is a good start," he said, adding that furniture is also sometimes useful for creating consistency – particularly when it matches-up with that in the space next to a conservatory.

Mr Notz has also said that among conservatories' potential benefits is the ability to bring additional light into a house.

"If there is a broad opening to a conservatory, the natural light can really brighten up your home and warm up the space in the winter," he said.
