Travel insurance: "Vibrant" Bilbao a great option

Bilbao in Spain is a great option for tourists as it has a "vibrant" atmosphere that can be enjoyed in the day or night, Lonely Planet has stated.

The city has reinvented itself in the last couple of years and has more of a cultural standing, due to venues such as the Museo Guggenheim, a spokeswoman at the firm said.

A number of attractions, including a strong nightlife, hills and an "old town", mean that Bilbao is diverse in terms of sights, commissioning editor for Spain and Portugal Korina Miller noted.

She commented: "As the largest city in the Basque Country, you're also sure to get your fill of the region's unique cultural fixes like pintxos (tapas), pelota vasca (handball) and Euskara (language)."

People can get to the area via low-cost flights, a boat or on the railway, she added.

The Gugenheim Museum has 19 different galleries and was designed by Frank Gehry, cityguide.com said.

Tourists should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance before making journeys abroad.
