The
BMW 3 Series has been named the most-desirable car by a vehicle purchasing website.
Motors.co.uk selected the luxury German saloon for its top Buyer's Choice Awards after it received the most searches from
car insurance customers between 2007 and 2009.
Despite being launched more than 30 years ago, British consumers are keen on the compact-sized executive model, which is one of the brand's cheaper vehicles.
The 5 Series also did the company proud, scooping an award for top executive car by featuring in the top ten list for most-searched cars on the site.
Other winners included the
Honda CR-V, which was the most searched for car in the 4x4 category, while the
Vauxhall Corsa received the accolade for top first car, partly down to the fact that it can be ideal for motorists looking for
cheap car insurance.
Kate Wardle, marketing manager at motors.co.uk, said that the results provide sound guidance for those in the market for a second-hand vehicle.
"With the new '10' plate set to be introduced on March 1st, there will be [a] surge in new car sales but the high number of part exchanges will also see more used cars on the market," she stated.
