Car insurance: BMW 6 Series sports package announced
Tuesday, 12 August 2008
German automobile manufacturer BMW has announced a new sports package for its 6 Series coupe and convertibles vehicles - which could see drivers picking them up paying more for car insurance.
The cars with the kits installed will feature contoured bonnets with "an aggressive look" as well as 19-inch alloy wheels and an anti-roll stabilisation system.
Drivers can buy the BMW 6 Series 630i Edition Sport Coupe derivative from £53,445 on-the-road and also pick up the 650i alternative for £65,820.
But it may be that they pay higher car insurance policies as a result, as cover firms could judge them to be an increased road risk.
"Building on this specification, BMW 650i Edition Sport Coupes and Convertibles also come with a sports exhaust for enhanced engine breathing and aural pleasure," said the company.
The 6 Series BMW cars have been in production twice - from 1976 to 1989 and then again in 2003.
