Car insurance: Britons 'in love' with their motors

Millions of Britons are spending years of their lives behind the wheel of a car, spending some £150,000 on their motors during that time.

A new survey by a leading insurance firm has found that Britons are spending more and more time in their cars, but are paying the price for it financially.

The survey revealed that a quarter of the population had their first kiss in a car, while one in twenty lost their virginity in a motor.

One per cent of respondents have even given birth in a car.

In fact, a fifth of British drivers aged between 17 and 24-years-old openly claim they 'love' their vehicles.

The results reveal Britons' increasingly close link to their cars, although the more time spent in the car is increasing the risk of crashing or having an accident.

Motorists who drive often are being urged to recheck their car insurance to make sure they have the cheapest deal around. Shopping around on the internet and obtaining a quick car insurance quote online is one of the easiest ways of cutting costs in the car.
