Car insurance: Brits 'dependent upon their vehicles'

Thursday, 22 October 2009

A new survey showing just how much Brits rely on having their own set of wheels highlights the importance of a good motor insurance policy.

Research by Europcar investigated the attitudes of seven nations towards driving and found people in the UK were most attached to their vehicles.

Some 67 per cent of Brits said they could not cope without their own motor, in comparison to 61 per cent of respondents in the other European countries.

Meanwhile, 73 per cent of people in the UK said they loved having their own car, compared to 60 per cent of participants across the rest of the continent.

However, the poll did find Brits are changing their habits in a bit to cut costs - with 62 per cent stating they have adapted the way they drive in order to conserve fuel.

People who are dependent upon their vehicles may find a good car insurance policy ensures they are not left without access to a motor in the event of an accident.
