Car insurance: Volvo offers help to hay fever sufferers

Wednesday, 06 May 2009

Vehicle buyers who fear their hay fever could result in a car insurance claim may want to consider a Volvo model when the time comes to trade in their current auto.

The Volvo manufacturer has pointed out all of its new motors are fitted with systems that monitor cabin air quality, as well as pollen filters.

It explained it was keen to do all it could for its customers who live with the seasonal condition, as itchy eyes and sneezing can affect an individual's safety behind the wheel.

Managing director Peter Rask said: "Millions of people in the UK suffer from hay fever and other allergies, so it makes sense for us to focus attention on improving air quality and minimise any potential safety risk."

The technology used in all new Volvos removes airborne allergens before they can be breathed in by the vehicle's occupants.

Having a clear head while behind the wheel could help motorists concentrate on the road and protect their cheap car insurance premiums.
