Motor insurance: Thieves 'find it easy'

British thieves are benefiting from the nonchalant attitude of UK motorists, according to new comments made by

The firm said that 96 per cent of drivers leave valuable goods in their cars regularly, while a third keep these in view for criminals to target.

And because of this, 21 per cent of these have been the victims of criminal activity, the organisation said.

Managing director of Tina Shortle said that driver could do more to ward against thieves.

"We strongly urge drivers to take 30 seconds to check their vehicle and to lock their gadgets in the glove box or boot when parking, even when leaving their car unattended at a petrol station. This little routine will ensure no gadget is visible," she commented.

She added that a viable motor insurance plan could be used in the attempt to beat criminals carrying out their activities.

In related news, Scarborough police officers are to wear keyhole cameras in the effort to cut down on the number of accidents seen in the area.
