Car insurance: Vehicle health check 'could see women safely through winter'

Thursday, 08 October 2009

Female motorists keen to protect their cheap car insurance premiums may find now is a good time to book their cars in for a winter service check, it has been suggested.

According to the Foxy Lady Drivers Club, it makes sense to ensure vehicles are in peak condition before winter.

Founder Steph Savill also pointed out booking a garage appointment could save women drivers money in the long run.

She stated: "An experienced mechanic will spot minor mechanical problems and safety issues before they become expensive emergencies."

An expert could also help prevent a small fault developing into the kind of serious auto failure that could lead to an accident and consequent motor insurance claim.

Ms Savill suggested mums who spend a significant amount of time ferrying the kids about may find having a thorough vehicle health check provides particular peace of mind.

In other news, a previous survey by the Foxy Lady Drivers Club found a quarter of women felt they were patronised the last time they visited a dealership to buy a car.
