Tuesday, 12 December 2006

Road rage is attacking in car parks across the land as shoppers gear up to vie for precious parking spaces.

Some 65 per cent of drivers admit to increased stress levels when parking according to car insurance company,, who surveyed 1,500 motorists.

Such frazzled drivers are a boon for opportunist thieves because one in four drivers leaves their purchases in vehicles while heading off to the shops.

Craig Stanilard, underwriting director at, said: "With the added stress levels of fighting other frantic shoppers for limited parking spaces during the festive period, we're advising drivers to take a deep breath and chill out a little.

"After all, tis the season to be jolly – if you're not careful, you could have a 'bumper' Christmas - but for all the wrong reasons."

One in five drivers has been the victim of a car park prang but having cheap car insurance takes the hassle out of having to organise car repairs yourself.
