Travel insurance: December 'best to purchase a summer holiday'
Friday, 11 January 2008
December is the best month in which to book summer holidays as a number of cheap deals can be gained, easyJet has suggested.
While such a move may not be possible for some people, total savings of £150 could be generated by a family of four if an option is booked in the first few weeks of that month, the firm remarked.
And the same goes for potential skiers, noted consumer PR executive at the company Marianne West, as they are individuals who might want to finalise their deals in the July or August before they are set to travel.
"So when people come back from their summer holiday they might not want to think about their next holiday, but realistically that is when to think about it because it's so much cheaper. Book early and grab the cheaper seats," she commented.
People wanting to go on holiday for two weeks can limit this to ten days and potentially save about £400 or £500, she added, because they leave on a Monday and return on a Friday.
January 7th is the most popular day on which to purchase a summer holiday, Travel Mole said this week.
Tourists should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance before they leave to go on trips.
