Officials in the Dorset area have said that they plan to slash the number of road deaths seen there over the coming five years.Drivers will be given fresh warnings on the issue of road safety as part of a larger overall Dorset Fire Authority Community Safety Plan, reports the Dorset Echo.A section of the plan stated that there is a huge push to try and work out how best to solve the problem of accidents."We are remaining active in campaigning with our partners in local authorities and with the police to highlight the risk of speeding, drink-driving and distraction from mobile phones and other in-car gadgets," it said.People can give their thoughts on the initial plans after they were sent out by Darran Gunter, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service chief officer and councillor David Fox, authority chairman.Maryport motorists were recently warned to wear seatbelts by the local authorities, in the attempt to reduce injury.Drivers involved in collisions could find that their car insurance premiums are negatively affected.Car insurance - get a quote in under 60 seconds!
