A new feature being introduced into Ford Fiestas could reduce the number of car insurance claims made as a result of motorists being dazzled by vehicles approaching from behind. Gentex has revealed it is providing auto-dimming interior rear-view mirrors for the manufacturer's updated model across Europe. The device will feature as standard on the Ghia and Titanium trim levels of the Fiesta. Customers who buy a vehicle with the innovation should find it darkens automatically in response to the glare from lights on rear-approaching cars. The device is already available on the Focus. Enoch Jen, senior vice president at Gentex, said: "We are very pleased that Ford recognises the importance of the auto-dimming feature in the European market." Last month it was revealed all trim levels of the new 2009 Honda Civic would be offering the device as an option. Drivers who opt for cars with safety devices such as this may also qualify for low cost motor insurance. Car Insurance - The Cheapest on Average Compare Car Insurance - The Cheapest on Average
