Car insurance: Mazda2 and Mazda3 'played key role in company's success'

Thursday, 30 July 2009

People who have recently taken out car insurance for either a Mazda2 or Mazda3 may have contributed to the manufacturer's success in the face of the recession, it has been suggested.

According to the company, it continues to post strong sales results despite the economic downturn.

The group claimed its dealers have reported a boost to operating profit of 24.1 per cent over the first five months of 2009, compared to the same time frame last year.

Similarly, the company's used car division recorded a 12.3 per cent year-on-year improvement.

In addition to this, the firm revealed aftersales takings rose by 6.2 per cent.

Overall, net profits for the manufacturer are up some 60 per cent.

Managing director Jeremy Thomson said certain models had played a key part in its recent achievements.

He stated: "The continued success of Mazda2 and the launch of the all-new Mazda3 has ... helped boost profits for our dealers."

Meanwhile, drivers planning to buy a vehicle from the manufacturer in the coming months may find they can secure low cost motor insurance online.
