Residents have asked for the introduction of speed cameras in one area of Southport after another collision there.The calls came as a Citroen Xsara hit a number of parked vehicles close to King George V College on Scarisbrick Road in the town, reports the Southport Visiter.Mike Burrows, one of the locals, argued that speed devices should be implemented as this is not the first time it has happened."They should have speed cameras down here as some cars go down the road like rockets. There are a lot of college lads and girls around and accidents do happen," he told the publication.He added that a car struck a lamppost near the same spot recently and that the cameras would be "doing some good".This week the West Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership announced that a text service created to warn drivers about cameras has been finished due to cost reasons.Drivers involved in accidents may find that their car insurance premiums are negatively impacted upon.Car insurance - the cheapest on average
