Travel insurance: Internet has 'improved travel possibilities'
Wednesday, 10 October 2007
Online booking has radically altered the way consumers get their holiday deals, according to a spokesperson at the low-cost airline, easyJet.
The internet gives consumers access to a wider base of information, the company stated, which allows them to check deals against each other and choose the cheapest ones, something that may interest those also searching for travel insurance.
Booking for online flights enables people to do all the hard or boring parts of holidays from the "comfort of your own home", the spokesperson claimed.
"It gives people that flexibility and choice and it saves them time. It's exactly the same as all the other products that are available online, such as speedy boarding," she commented.
She added that as technology has developed, holiday providers have moved with the times and can now give online users such things as online check-in, which improves the experience.
Aviation minister Jim Fitpatrick recently stated that travellers are to be given improved flights to Singapore after an agreement with the country to allow non-European Union and US planes to fly there.
