Car insurance: Race Retro to celebrate 50 years of Mini

Motorists who are fans of the kind of vehicles which require classic car insurance may be tempted to attend this year's Race Retro event.

Organisers have revealed the historic motorsport show will celebrate the achievements of the racing Mini to mark the manufacturer's 50th anniversary.

Scheduled to be held at Stoneleigh Park from March 13th to 15th, Race Retro will display the model which won the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally.

In addition, the victorious driver, Rauno Aaltonen, will take his original 1964 Monte Carlo Rally Mini Cooper S and an Aston Martin V8GT model for a few circuits around the Stoneleigh track.

Classic motor insurance customers can purchase a one-day ticket for £20 for the Friday and £15 for Saturday or Sunday.

Meanwhile, visitors to the show will also get the opportunity to witness a team of historic motoring mechanical experts as they attempt to restore a mid-1940s Allard L Type to its former glory.
