Brits looking to save on insurance in 2011

Britons are looking to make savings on their insurance policies in 2011, according to new research from online provider Swiftcover.com.

One in ten Brits are hoping to save more than £100 on their motor insurance policy, while a fifth of home insurance policyholders would be happy to make just a £20 saving this year.

More than half (59 per cent) are planning to make savings where possible in 2011, according to Swiftcover.com.

Two-thirds of contents insurance holders will be looking to reduce their energy bills in 2011 and around four in ten drivers will be looking to save money on their car insurance this year, the research revealed.

Tina Shortle, marketing director at the online insurer, said: "This year is going to be another year for the tightening of belts for everyone in the UK."

She added: "People realise that they can save money on their insurance by shopping around. With swiftcover.com they can save time too."

Recently, price comparison site moneysupermarket.com advised people to check exactly what cover they would receive on their fully comprehensive car insurance policy, in order to avoid unnecessary problems if an accident occurs.
