Stay Safe with DIY says Dyno

Saturday, 07 July 2012

Dyno has reminded DIY fans to don gloves and goggles for protection when they do it themselves.

It has also made the important point that certain DIY accidents may potentially have an impact on people's jobs and the amount of money they take home.

This came as part of a series of tips about the errors that people can make while DIYing that could see them losing cash.

Dyno suggests that DIYers could run into trouble if they bite off more than they can chew with DIY. They should seek advice in the event of becoming uncertain about the task in hand, it advises.

It also highlights the importance of planning when it comes to DIY, saying that measuring in a rush could cause problems if numbers are wrong.

Build It + Home Improvement magazine's Anna-Marie DeSouzaIf recently also made some comments that home insurance holders who are interested in DIY could benefit from.

"People should have a go at doing what they feel comfortable doing – if you're quite a skilled DIYer, have a go at hanging that door," she said.

She added: "If you're not, maybe start off with something small and build up your repertoire that way."

Ms DeSouzaIf also suggested that such newbie DIYers could seek advice or training.
