Motor insurance: Swiftcover 'cheapest'

Monday, 02 July 2007

A new list of cheap car insurance companies has put online insurer Swiftcover.com at the top.

The Telegraph.co.uk news site's Mr Money has compiled a list to save car insurance customers time, claiming: "Buyers can't even begin to think about getting to know all the firms, brokers, agents, intermediaries, web site operators and others on the scene. And they stand even less chance of separating the good from the bad."

It goes on: "If the cheapest annual premium is all you're interested in, I have a list that could and should help save you possibly hundreds of pounds a year."

And the number one spot at a time when motor insurance premiums are reaching the highest level in the past two years goes to Swiftcover.com.

Data analyst Experian revealed the rising cost of insurance, suggesting combating the price rises by taking steps to keep insurance down.

Among the suggestions to drivers were avoiding collecting points for motoring convictions on their licence.

However, with Swiftcover.com, one conviction, or three points, will not affect the size of the premiums motorists pay for their insurance.
